Super Petrol, Diesel, and Kerosene fuel has been reduced by Ksh. 1 in part of the latest monthly price review by the Energy Petroleum Regulator Authority (EPRA).

According to a statement issued Wednesday, February 14, 2024 the new prices for Super Petrol, Diesel, and Kerosene are Ksh.206.36, Ksh.195.47, and Ksh. 193.23, respectively.

The decrease in fuel prices is attributed to a decline in the landed costs of Super Petrol, Diesel, and Kerosene

EPRA stated in the statement that the average landed cost of imported Super Petrol fell by 1.71%, from US$677.78 per cubic metre in December 2023 to US$666.16 per cubic metre in January 2024.

Diesel saw a decrease of 3.08%, from US$751.15 per cubic meter to US$728.03 per cubic meter, while Kerosene decreased by 1.17%, from US$727.00 per cubic meter to US$718.51 per cubic meter.

EPRA also stated that the price of diesel has been cross-subsidized with that of super petrol, while the price of kerosene has been fully stabilised.

According to EPRA, Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) will be compensated for under recovery of costs from the Petroleum Development Levy (PDL) Fund.
