Justice David Majanja has been re-elected as a member of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
Majanja will now represent the Kenya Magistrates and Judges Association (KMJA) according to Article 171 (2) (d) of the Constitution.
Justice Majanja led with 81 votes followed by Justice James Olola who had 47 votes and Justice Joram Abuodha had nine votes.
He was first elected to the JSC on May 14, 2019, for a five-year term.
He was elected in 2019 to represent Judge Aggrey Muchelule whose five-year term serving on the JSC as the male representative for judges and magistrates ended on April 4, 2019.
Majanja was appointed as a Judge of the High Court in 2011 and is currently stationed at the Milimani Civil Division.
Before his re-election, Justice Majanja served as the Chairperson of the Human Resource Management Committee and a member of the Audit.
He was the chairperson of the Governance and Risk Management Committee and the Learning and Development Committee.
He was educated at the Hill School, in Eldoret and the Alliance High School.
Majanja holds a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the University of Pretoria and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Nairobi.
He worked for Mohammed and Muigai Advocates and Onyango and Ohaga Advocates before founding Majanja Luseno and Company Advocates in 2007.
