Kenya Power and Lighting Company has urged pre-paid users to buy enough tokens to last them through to Tuesday next week.

In a notice to the Public on Monday, the power company said the prepaid token vending service will not be available on Sunday and Monday (June 2nd and 3rd, 2024).

“We therefore wish to advise our pre-paid customers to buy enough tokens before then to avoid any inconvenience,” Kenya Power said.

This will be occasioned by a system upgrade that is scheduled to take place during the period.

Kenya Power said the service outage will be on all vending points.

“We wish to inform customers that the prepaid token vending system will be unavailable from 10:00PM, Sunday, 2nd June to 10PM, Monday, 3rd June to enable us to upgrade our systems for improved service delivery.

“During this period, customers will not be able to buy electricity tokens from all vending points including Kenya Power offices, M-PESA Paybill number 888880, Airtel Money and banking channels.”

This is another of the Power company’s routine system upgrades.
