Nairobi, October 25, 2024: Airtel Kenya has launched “Data ImeData Campaign,” offering their Weekly and Monthly data customers up to 50% more data at price points ranging from Ksh 50 to Ksh 1000.

As Kenyans approach the festive season, this is a Christmas offer that aims to offer them affordable, reliable and convenient data services.

The Amazing Data Weekly and Monthly customers will enjoy increased data offerings at the same price points as before, experiencing enhanced online experiences and seamless connectivity. Data ImeData Campaign addresses the growing data needs of customers, giving them more data for the same price. With Airtel’s ongoing network expansion for 4G and 5G networks across the country, users can now enjoy a faster and uninterrupted digital experience.

Airtel Kenya Managing Director, Mr. Ashish Malhotra commented on the launch, stating, “Over the past few years, we have seen steady growth in data subscription and usage. Our primary goal is to ensure that all our customers consistently enjoy affordable, convenient, and market-leading services that evolve with their needs. As we continue to serve our customers in the digital space, we remain flexible and adaptive to meet their diverse demands. These new data plans are designed to provide enhanced capacity, offering more seamless and reliable connections.”

The revamped plans also include Free WhatsApp, allowing customers to stay connected with friends and family at no extra cost. Additionally, customers can gift bundles to other Airtel users and extend bundle validity by purchasing another bundle before the current one expires or selecting the auto-renew option.

Below is a breakdown of the pricing and new data allocation:

Amazing Bundles Price New Data Old Data
Amazing Weekly 50 KSH 50 450MB 350MB
Amazing Weekly 100 KSH 100 1.2GB 750MB
Amazing Monthly 250 KSH 250 3GB 3GB
Amazing Monthly 500 KSH 500 7.5GB 5GB
Amazing Monthly 1000 KSH 1,000 18GB 12GB
Amazing Monthly 2000 KSH 2,000 40GB 30GB

**Under the new structure, the Amazing Monthly 250 plan will remain unchanged in terms of data allocation but will drop in price from KES 300 to KES 250.

According to the Communications Authority of Kenya, data remains a key driver of internet uptake in the country, accounting for 97.2% of total subscriptions. The growing consumer demand for high-speed internet has accelerated the expansion of both 4G and 5G networks across Kenya. As data and internet needs continue to rise, Airtel has constantly introduced innovative products that cater to both voice and data services. As part of this effort, in August, the company launched the ‘GB kwa GB’ campaign, encouraging Kenyans to upgrade their phones and experience the enhanced network. This campaign is part of Airtel’s broader efforts to fuel the digital revolution and drive digital inclusion across the country.

The Amazing Weekly and Monthly data plans are available for purchase via USSD *544# or the My Airtel App.
