The political rivalry between Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja and Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has taken a negative trajectory following the spreading of a faked document by Babu’s operatives to undermine Sakaja’s administration.
In the latest swipe, the MP has taken to sponsoring online propaganda by generating a faked companies act document purported to name key county government officials as directors of the newly formed NCCG-Green Nairobi Limited Company which is owned by the county government.
Last month, Governor Sakaja announced the formation of Green Nairobi , a limited company that is aimed at addressing the cleaning of the city in a model that the Nairobi Water and Sewerage company operates in a bid to leverage service delivery and compliment the results driven Green Army youth cohorts who have been cleaning the city.
Realizing that the Green Army has been able to clean up the city and the governor has spearheaded successful projects which are now popular with the Nairobi residents, Babu has taken to sponsoring propaganda.
The fake document doing rounds on social media lists finance CEC Charles Kerich, Maureen Njeri the Environment CEC, County Secretary Geoffrey Akhumali as shareholders while Environment Chief officer Geoffrey Mosiria and Finance Chief officer Asha Abdi have been listed as a directors.
However, the county government officials are public servants and not in any way associated with the Green Nairobi Limited.
Further, the officials are not allowed by law to be directors of the company owned by the county government which is their employer.
Babu Owino has taken to spreading falsehoods after Governor Sakaja successfully hosted President William Ruto on a week long development tour around Nairobi where the head of state endorsed county government projects and pumped more resources into existing projects like Dishi na County school feeding program.
Babu Owino has been fighting the Green Army since the initiative has effectively employed 3500 youths around Nairobi while order in the Central Business District has been restored after the county government relocated hawkers to the back streets, low hanging advertising boards were all removed from pavements and cleaning exercises have been conducted successfully.
