05 September 2025, Nairobi, Kenya — Sun King, the world’s leading off-grid solar energy company, has unveiled a refreshed logo marking a major milestone in its continued growth and evolution. The new logo reflects the company’s expanding product portfolio – from solar home systems and solar inverter solutions to pay-as-you-go smartphones – all designed to provide reliable, affordable energy and technology solutions to customers across Africa and Asia.

To mark the rebrand, Sun King is launching a public-facing campaign, “Switch to More!”, to highlight its expanded range of solar and technology solutions. The campaign invites families and businesses to switch to:

  • More savings – with EasyBuy, Sun King’s flexible pay-as-you-go financing model.
  • More peace of mind – with free installation and after-sales services.
  • More options – from basic lanterns to high-capacity solar inverter systems, as well as solar-powered TVs and smartphone solutions.
  • More reliable power – for homes, businesses, and institutions.

To support the rebrand, Sun King has released a short animation video that tells the story behind the new logo. The video captures the company’s journey, its community impact, and what comes next – helping customers and partners recognise the refreshed identity and trust in the brand they already know and love.

“Our refreshed logo reflects our commitment to our customers – to deliver more affordable solar for their homes, more appliances that make life easier, and more power to support the businesses, schools, and communities they depend on,” said Anish Thakkar, Co-Founder, Sun King

Our brand journey

The logo refresh is just one part of a broader transformation. Sun King offers more ways than ever to meet the needs of households and businesses:

  • The HomePlus and HomePlus Pro solar home systems that deliver reliable multi-room lighting and phone charging.
  • High-capacity solar inverters, such as PowerHub and PowerPlay Pro, providing households, commercial businesses, and institutions with consistent, reliable energy.
  • Pay-as-you-go smartphones to increase digital and mobile connectivity.

With over 24 million households powered and more than 300,000 new systems installed every month, Sun King continues to transform how people access energy across the continent.

To mark the brand update, Sun King will host “Switch to More!” events in cities across Africa. These events will showcase new products and share stories from households and businesses that use solar energy to power their lives and livelihoods.

What’s changing — and what isn’t
While the logo has been refreshed, Sun King’s commitment remains the same:

  • Affordable, high-quality solar products
  • Flexible pay-as-you-go financing
  • Free installation and ongoing after-sales support

The refreshed logo stays true to Sun King’s commitment – powering access to brighter lives. Now and into the future.
