After weeks of exciting battles, Smirnoff Battle of the Beats (SBOB) coast edition crowns Rattihy the DJ as the hottest DJ from the coast.
Fans from across the country submitted their votes and after an intense round of 4 and Rattihy the DJ emerged on top. His electrifying set which was an eccentric mix of various genres, clearly won the hearts of viewers that tuned in to TV47 for the Smirnoff battle.
The final round saw the top 4 DJs from the Coast region RATIHY THE DJ, DJ SPYKE 254, DJ DADDIE, and DJ CALZ KE compete in a high-stakes showdown, each demonstrating exceptional skills. Reflecting on the performances, SBOB judge DJ Grauchi remarked, “The level of creativity we’ve seen on the Coast Region leg of this competition has been extraordinary.
Rattihy The DJ stood out with their ability to seamlessly blend genres and create hype while connecting with the audience. Our role as judges is to mentor and guide the DJs and I’m happy with the choice that fans have made by voting for Rattihy the DJ” SBOB DJ competition, an initiative by Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL), is part of Smirnoff’s We Do We campaign, which celebrates unity, diversity, and the joy of
music.
SBOB provides a platform for emerging talent to shine and aims to discover and nurture the best DJ talent in Kenya.
Speaking at the award ceremony Spirits Marketing Manager, Kennedy Mutula stated, “This competition is a testament to KBL’s commitment to promoting creativity and innovation in the vibrant Kenyan music scene. We acknowledge and appreciate all the participants in the Coast edition of this competition, and we look forward to working with them beyond the competition, in our various events that allow us to celebrate life.”
The SBOB regional competition now moves to its final stage in Nairobi. Smirnoff will hold auditions for the Nairobi region on 15th November 2024, at Quiver Lounge and Grill Eastlands, where participants will compete for a chance to join SBOB. A panel of judges, including DJ Grauchi, DJ Karoski, and DJ Redbone, will select the top contestants.
Those who advance will proceed to the live TV battles, where viewers will have the chance to vote for Nairobi’s hottest DJ. Rattihy the DJ now joins an elite group of regional winners, including DJ Insta from the Lake region, DJ Kryptic from the Mountain region, and Kay Jay The DJ from the Rift region. These regional champions, along with the upcoming Nairobi winner, will compete for the ultimate SBOB title. Fans and supporters nationwide are encouraged to follow the competition and join in the journey to discover the next DJ sensation.
