In a monumental move that promises the reshape Kenya’s football landscape, Football Kenya Federation (FKF) deputy president Doris Petra has announced a comprehensive strategy aimed at reviving youth and grassroots soccer which is the bedrock of the sport’s development.
Petra who is running for presidency of the local governing football body FKF in the forthcoming elections slated for December 7th, 2024, said the foundation of youth football starts.
“My first task in office when elected is to tackle youth and grassroots football as a priority which forms the foundation of the sport,” she said.
Petra who will be running for the presidency with the current FKF president Nick Mwendwa as her running mate to revive youth and grassroots football in Kenya is a much-needed step towards reclaiming the nation’s lost glory.
“The revival of youth football in Kenya is not just about winning titles but also about inspiring a new generation of players who can carry forward the nation’s rich footballing legacy. With a well structured plan and dedicated execution, there is every reason to believe that Kenya can reclaim its position as a powerhouse,” she said.
