Members of the Nairobi City County Assembly from Kamukunji constituency today joined Governor Johnson Sakaja to accompany President William Ruto on an inspection and development tour of Kamukunji constituency.

In California, Hashim Kamau led the President in opening the newly constructed state of the art Desert sports grounds.

The Head of State addressed his first rally in the Eastleigh area, during which he explained his development plans and opened the sports ground that has been carpeted to modern standards under the leadership of Kamau.

Ruto embarked on a weeklong tour of Nairobi County, launching and commissioning development projects across its 17 constituencies.

President Ruto focused on Makadara and Kamukunji constituencies during the first day of his tour where he was welcomed by Governor Sakaja along with Hashim, MCA Nixo, Fuad and other county government leaders among them CECS AND Chief officers.

He began his by commissioning Kamukunji Technical Vocational College in the Kamukunji Constituency.

He then inspected the Bangkok Fresh Produce Market in Eastleigh north before moving to California to witness the upgrading of Desert Pitch. The President also oversaw the expansion of the Dishi na County School Feeding Programme at Zawadi Primary School in Hon. Nixo’s Eastleigh south ward before heading to Shauri Moyo to assess the Affordable Housing Project in Makadara Constituency.

“Under Governor Sakaja, Dishi Na County has been a very successful program ensuring that outr children have good meals at school at only five shillings and this has seen a rise in our education. I thank President Ruto and Governor Sakaja for ensuring that Dishi na County expansion is happening here in Zawadi Primary school as this will as well improve the performance of our children in school,” Nixo said.

Later, he launched the Nairobi Rivers Engineering Works in Kamukunji Constituency before concluding the day with a rally at Kamukunji Grounds.
