FKF Electoral Board dispatches election materials to counties

Nairobi-November 6, 2024: The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Electoral Board has today dispatched election materials to 44 polling stations at the county level countrywide confirming that it is now all systems go for the FKF County Elections slated for this Saturday, 9th November.

The FKF Electoral Board dispatched ballot materials to the Counties in readiness for the elections and is scheduled to engage all candidates online in a virtual meeting set for tomorrow afternoon.

Speaking when he confirmed the process readiness, FKF Electoral Board Chairman Hesbon Owilla said they had contracted a private security logistics firm to provide secure logistical and material handling service for the electoral materials.

The board also oversaw the training of more than 100 electoral officials who will act as the Returning and Presiding officers for the County polls.

“We have dispatched elections materials to the Counties and after the training of elections officers on Monday, we are good to go. Nairobi East has the highest number of delegates (167) while Kirinyaga (7) and Makueni (7) have the least number of delegates,” Owilla said.

“We have also comprehensively dealt with all the complaints as per the FKF Electoral Code,” Owila added.

On Thursday, November 7, the board has scheduled a meeting with all the County candidates to provide further details and civic education of the Saturday polls.

Meanwhile, the board on Tuesday appeared before the Departmental Committee on Sports and Culture to brief the Parliament on the updates of the exercise that began slightly more than a month ago.

Owila told the Committee that was chaired by Kabete Member of Parliament James Wamacukuru, that measures have been put in place to ensure that the elections are free fair, transparent, credible and verifiable.

Makadara MP Aspirant Edwin Kuria launches Nairobi Mega Pool tournament Makadara Constituency incoming Member of Parliament Edwin Kuria has today, Saturday 9 May, 2026, launched Nairobi’s mega Pool Table Tournament, slated for May 24th, 2026 with a promise to deliver an ecentric pool table tournament where a lucky, talented youth will win a brand new Motor Cycle. Speaking today in Viwandani Ward of Makadara Sub County, Kuria activated the youth to brace themselves for an electrifying competition in the tournament meant to empower the youth. Participants will compete for exciting rewards, with the GRAND PRIZE BEING A MOTORBIKE, alongside other cash prizes of KSH 40,000, KSH 20,000, and KSH 10,000. This mega tournament will be played across five zones where the winner in every zone will pocket Ksh. 5000 and a chance to move into the next stage for an opportunity to win a Motor Cycle. The runners up in every zone will walk away with a Ksh. 3000 while number three wins Ksh. 2000. In that spirit, Kuria has taken it upon himself to bring the community together through the VIWANDANI POOL TOURNAMENT, set for 24TH MAY 2026. Kiria intones that this is not just competition, it is a statement of inclusion, youth empowerment, and practical engagement at the grassroots level. Kuria encouraged all interested participants to register with thekir local cordinators and be part of this transformative experience. “This is what meaningful leadership looks like—creating real opportunities where talent is recognized and rewarded. It is about moving beyond words and ensuring that progress can be seen and felt within the community,” Kuria said. Kuria, who is running for the position of Makadara Membernof Parliament has been active in empowering the residents of Makadara constituency using sports as a way of empowerment.
