The Football Kenya federation (FKF) Cup winners Kenya Police FC won to move to the top of the FKF Premier League (FKF PL) as the defending champions Gor Mahia and giants AFC Leopards bounced back from their weekend losses to earn maximum points in their midweek fixtures.

Police 3 Bandari 0

Kenya Police walloped Bandari FC 3-0 in an FKF Premier League match at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos, on Wednesday afternoon to go top of the table.

The law enforcers delivered an almost flawless performance, extending Bandari’s winless streak to seven matches

The law enforcers needed a win to overtake Tusker on goal difference, and they achieved this with goals from Marvin Nabwire and Clinton Kinanga.

This victory brought Police FC’s points tally to 33, equal to Tusker, but a superior goal difference of +13 compared to Tusker’s +8 placed them at the summit.

Police FC will face first timers Mara Sugar FC on Sunday, while Bandari hosts Nairobi City Stars on Saturday.

Gor Mahia 2 Sofapaka 0

Gor Mahia bounced back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Sofapaka in a rescheduled FKF Premier League match played on Wednesday 22 January at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.

Vice-captain Geoffrey ‘Simiti’ Ochieng and Shariff Musa scored at either side of half time to ensure victory for K’Ogalo.

The win sees Gor Mahia maintain their fourth position with 27 points, six shy of league leaders Kenya Police and Tusker but with a game in hand while Sofapaka remain sixth with 24 points.

KCB 2 AFC Leopards 4

The premier league 2025 New Year leaders Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) failed to narrow the gap to the top following a 4-2 defeat to AFC Leopards in a FKF Premier League match played on the afternoon of Wednesday 22 January 2025 at St. Sebastian Park, Murang’a.

Goals by Kennedy Owino, Ovella Ochieng and a Kelly Madada brace for Leopards secured the much needed three points with KCB scoring through Stephen Etyang and Francis Kahiro.

The win takes Leopards to fifth position in the league table with 25 points while KCB remain in third on 28 points.
