Kenya’s Women’s U17 national team Junior Starlets are two matches away from making a return to the FIFA World Cup after qualifying to the third and final round of the ongoing African qualifiers on Sunday 16 March, 2025.

The Kenyan youngsters picked a 3-0 win against Uganda at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi, finishing the round on 5-0 goal aggregate.

Starlets held a 2-0 advantage going into the match, having defeated Uganda in Kampala last week.

Brenda Achieng’s brace and an opener from Patience Asiko saw Junior Starlets sail through to the final qualifying round where they play Cameroon, who progressed after defeating Ethiopia 6-3 on aggregate

“Winning away in the first leg gave us confidence, and today we secured another three points. The teamwork on display was crucial for such a performance,” coach Mildred Cheche said.
