Unbwogable hit maker and renowned radio personality Joseph Ogidi Oyoo alias Gidi Gidi is joining sports politics by eyeing to be the Secretary General of Kenya’s record national football champions Gor Mahia in the forthcoming elections scheduled for April 13th, 2025.

Gidi Gidi, who is well-known for his contribution to the iconic song Kenya’s political second liberation song Unbwogable and his popular radio show Patanisho which he airs alongside former Harambee Stars coach Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee , adds a unique element to the elections. His entry into the race brings attention, particularly from fans who are excited to see a popular public figure in the leadership contest.

Gidi Gidi will square it out with the incumbent Secretary General Sam Ocholla who is seeking a second term and Nicanor Arum.

Long-serving Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier is set to be re-elected unopposed after being the only candidate to be cleared for the position by the club’s electoral board.

According to a statement released on Wednesday, Rachier who has been at the helm of the Kenyan giants since 2008 will sail through without breaking a sweat in the elections set for April 13, as is Victor Omondi who will also take over the vice chairperson position unopposed.

“This is to inform you that Gor Mahia Football Club Election Board received the following applications for consideration and clearance to contest the four (4) vacant positions in the management of Gor Mahia Football Club. After a thorough scrutiny and review, the Election Board cleared the following candidates to contest in the forthcoming election,” said the Electoral Board chairman Gichu Wahome.

Gerphas Okuku Ogolla and Phillip Nyakwana have been cleared for the Honorary Treasurer position.
