The unfortunate remarks that were uttered by Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino following the untimely demise of Kariobangi North ward Member of the County Assembly (MCA) the late Joel Munuve must be called out.

Babu Owino should apologize over his remarks on Munuve’s death after the MP claimed that the MCA was poisoned contrary to the autopsy report that was conducted revealing that Munuve died due to blood clot and lack of sufficient oxygen.

Following the sudden death of the Kariobangi North MCA, a team of seven pathologistsand a team from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) has ruled out foul play, pointing instead to a fatal blood clot that led to his untimely passing

According to Government Chief Pathologist Johansen Oduor, Munuve suffered a pulmonary thromboembolism, a blood clot that formed in the deep veins of his left leg and travelled to his lungs, fatally blocking a major blood vessel.

The clot obstructed blood flow to the lungs, severely impairing oxygenation and breathing leading to his demise.

With the autopsy report rulling out any possibility of foul play,

Nairobi County Assembly Members and their top leadership have accepted the report confirming that there was no foul play in the unfortunate demise of Munuve.

This was confirmed by the pathologist and Lawyers who were hired by County Assembly Members.

Babu Owino sensationally claimed that the blood clot in the lungs which was caused by poisoning. He went ahead to claim that several types of poisons can increase the risk of blood clots in the lungs,

The late Munuve was a forthright and effective leader who after the signing of an MOU between the county assembly majority ODM and the Minority UDA, the Kariobangi North MCA elected on an independent ticket remained the voice of the opposition in the Nairobi City County Assembly raising issues of public interest recently was working on an impeachment motion to remove the Nairobi Governor from office.

Dagoretti South MP John KJ Kiarie took to the floor of Parliament to claim that Munuve’s death was orchestrated and called for a thorough investigation to reveal the cause of death.

Kia Maiko MCA Joseph Ndungu Ndoch also sensationally claimed that he had information that Munuve was killed for being outspoken against the county administration noting that he was lined up next for assassination, claims that he could not substantiate and uttered before the postmortem was done to establish Munuve’s cause of death.

Embakasi North MP James Gakuya noted that he was satisfied with the autopsy report if the MCA’S agreed with it. Gakuya has not been supportive of Munuve even though he has been at the front line in criticizing the county administration as an independent MCA.

This baseless claims were all uttered in an inhumane situation at a time the family of the late Munuve is in mourning and must be recalled and the leaders offer their public apologies to the family, the people of Kariobangi North and Kenyans in general.
