The top Nairobi county Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leadership have today, Saturday September 6, 2025 traversed the Kariobangi North ward in Embakasi North and assured the people that the ODM nominations will be free and fair.
Led by the Nairobi ODM chairman and Makadara member of parliament George Aladwa,  seasoned Embakasi North politicians  Madam Jane Muringi, and Senator  Beatrice Kwamboka, the top ODM leaders met delegates in the ward ahead of the November 27th by elections and the party nominations set to be held on September 29th, 2025.
The tour of Kariobangi North ward by Aladwa, Madam Jane and Kwamboka set the pace for the ODM candidates ahead of the nominations.
The leaders emphasized that, Kariobangi North, a ward which was traditionally an ODM stronghold lost ground due to botched party primaries where the most popular candidate beat ODM at the ballot, after being denied the ODM nomination certificate costing the party the win on previous elections.
Other leaders who were present at the meeting included  Roseline Okuta from Kamukunji who is vying for ODM the Orange League Nairobi Branch Chairperson’s position, nominated MCA Cathrine Akoth, who is the current
Orange Women Democratic League Nairobi branch Chairperson, media personality Julias Owino popularly known as  Maji Maji, Dandora ward 4/5 MCA Dan Oria and Lindi ward MCA Ochieng Jera.
Ahead of the party nominations, a host of aspirants have thrown their hats in the ring with Michael Ouma Majua, a former Kariobangi North MCA and former Nairobi Football Kenya Federation FKF NEC member leading the pack. A recent opinion poll ranked Ouma ahead with a commanding 56 percent if polls were held today.
Other leading candidates include Chrispin Wandera alias Dangote and Paul Martin Ochieng’ and Martin Marto.
Ouma has set a 10 pillars  agenda for Kariobangi North noting that the journey to a better Kariobangi North is built on people-centered leadership and a clear vision for progress.
Ouma has promised to transform the community through better infrastructure, quality education, healthcare for all, job creation, inclusivity, youth empowerment, and accountable leadership.
Ouma has been at the forefront in catering for the needs of the people of Kariobangi North among his notable positive impacts being his involvement in the development of talent among the youth. As a football administrator, Ouma is credited with helping raise the talents in the area empowering them to use sports as a commercial enterprise. At the same time, Kariobangi North residents vividly remember the dedication with which Ouma worked to deliver development to the area during his stint as MCA and after exiting the political arena.
