The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) will field candidates in 16 out of the 23 electoral areas set for by-elections on November 27, 2025.
The decision was reached following a meeting of its Central Committee on Thursday, August 28th, 2025.
According to a statement by Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, the party will issue direct nomination tickets in Magarini Constituency and Fafi Ward, while the remaining 21 areas will undergo a competitive candidate selection process.
The party’s National Election Coordination Committee has been directed to invite applications from aspirants in the relevant constituencies and wards, as ODM prepares for what could be a litmus test for its grassroots support in the wake of recent political realignments.
