A historic shift is coming to the heart of Nairobi! After a dedicated five-month journey of official correspondence and rigorous vetting, the Guinness World Records family has formally accepted the challenge from Bishop Benjamin Juma Simiyu of Gospel Celebration Centre Ministry. Starting May 5th to 7th, 2026, at the GCC Nairobi Kayole Church (7th Heavens Ground).
Bishop Benjamin will attempt to shatter the existing record of 42 hours by embarking on a grueling, non-stop 48 to 49-hour Chanting Prayer Marathon. This is not merely an attempt to rewrite the record books; it is a strategic, spiritual intervention sanctioned by heaven and acknowledged by the Kenyan Government. As the nation approaches the 2026 General Elections, this marathon stands as a divine warning and a plea for peace, urging politicians and citizens to conduct campaigns with order, dignity, and a spirit of brotherhood.
This monumental sacrifice will be witnessed by a powerful assembly of Bishops and spiritual fathers from across Nairobi’s diverse denominations, signaling a new era of ecclesiastical unity.

Beyond the record-breaking hours, Bishop Benjamin is launching a continental movement, calling upon every Kenyan and every believer across the African landscape to “stand in the gap.” It is a summons for all not just clergy, but every citizen to join this marathon of intercession for the healing of our land and the prosperity of Africa. Whether you join us on the ground in Kayole or stream the event live globally via Gospel Advancement TV (GATv), you are part of a movement that refuses to let our nation be defined by election-year tension. We are breaking barriers, we are breaking records, and we are securing a peaceful future for our children. Together, we shall build a Kenya that is anchored in peace and transformation.
