Kenya’s Gor Mahia openned their CECAFA Kagame Cup account on a losing note after succumbing 1-0 to Zambia’s Red Arrows in a Group B game played at the Chamazi Sports Complex , Tanzania on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 night.

The match which was coach Leonardo Neiva’s first game in charge of Gor Mahia, saw the record Kenyan Premier League champions trail in the 74th minute through substitute 44 year old James Kamanga, who fired home with an easy tap-in after latching onto a loose ball inside the area.

In the end, the goal proved the difference in the game.

The result leaves Gor Mahia third on the log with zero points. Sudan’s Al Hilal, who earlier today beat Djibouti Telkom 2-0, top the group. Gor’s next game is against Telkom on Sunday, July 14th, 2024, night.
