The Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetangula, has been sued for allegedly over a supply of dogs.

The dispute arises from failing failing to settle a debt amounting to Ksh. 281,000 for the supply of two German Shepherd dogs and related training services.

The lawsuit was filed by Isoka Bethwel in the Small Claims Court.

According to court documents, Bethwel claims that Wetangula contracted him to supply two male German Shepherd dogs and provide training services.

Bethwel also claims he was instructed  to supply two packs of dogs food Four packs of brave active (dog food),dog training sleeves, dog leash and choke chains, dog grooming brushes.

He also supplied a dog nail cutter, five litres of dog shampoo and five litres of kennel disinfectant totaling to Kshs 348,100.

While an initial payment of Ksh. 100,000 was made, Bethwel asserts that the remaining balance of Ksh. 248,100 remains unpaid.

Bethwel argues that Wetangula has refused to honor the agreement by failing to pay the outstanding amount for the dogs supplied and the training services rendered.

“I tried reaching out to the Respondent to recover the said balance but the Respondent rudely and adamantly informed me that the he would not pay me the remaining balance.” reads court papers

The claimant states that, despite multiple attempts to secure payment, he has been left with no option but to seek legal redress through the court.

Bethwel further claims that the ongoing situation has caused him psychological distress and that he stands to lose the remaining balance if the court does not intervene.

” I waited for the payment of the remaining balance of Kenya Shilling Two Hundred and Forty-Eight Thousand, One Hundred (Kshs 198,100/-) but all was in vain. ” Isoka Bethwel claims

He is now seeking the court’s assistance to ensure that he receives the full payment owed to him.

Wetangula has yet to publicly respond to the allegations.
