The  family on Monday told the press that when he was diagnosed with the tumor, he was taken to Germany where he underwent a surgery to remove it.
The family spokesperson detailed that in April 2024, it was discovered that the tumor had recurred and he went back to Germany for a second removal.
Chebukati would again go back to hospital in December 2024, after a check-up showed that the tumor had recurred.
Come 2025, Chebukati was re-admitted in hospital on February 12, where he was placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). He suffered a cardiac arrest on February 20, 2025.
