Newly promoted Kenyan Premier League side Nairobi United’s story of rise to glory is one that is nothing short of inspirational.

The 2024/25 National Super League champions won the second tier league with two matches to spare will for the first time in history play in the top flight league.

Their historic triumph stands in line with yet another historic moment as the team, popularly known as Naibois looks at an unprecedented league and cup double as the Nairobi United faces Gor Mahia in the Mozzartbet cup final.

Nairobi United FC was coronated as the National Super League 2024/2025 champions following a fairy tale season that not only saw the team transformation into the best organized NSL team in Kenya but as well, bagged a life defining ownership dream when the team was adopted by the Sakaja Johnson Foundation at the beginning of the he 2024/2025 season.

The team’s NSL glory has been capped with a chance to potentially play in the CAF Confederation cup as the team prepares to play the cup final against 21 times KPL champions Gor Mahia. A win for Naibois will be historic as they will be the first team ever to win a Nationwide league and Cup double earning both a ticket to the Premier League and continental football.

En route to their league triumph, Nairobi United secured an unassailable lead in the league winning the title with three matches left before the coronation day, and earned an automatic promotion to the top tier Football Kenya Federation Premier League.

Nairobi United head coach Nicholas Muyoti believes the team’s resilience during the season will be a major motivation against Gor Mahia noting that Naibois have faced tougher opponents and overcame them and his eyes are solely trained on the Mozzartbet cup final victory.

The former Harambee Stars international Nicholas Muyoti, have put together an impressive campaign and is planning beyond the Mozzartbet cup final into representing Kenya in the CAF Confederation cup.

This will be historic as a second tier league team represents Kenya in the CAF Confederation cup, CAF’s second largest continental club competition.

The club was originally founded in 2015 as 360 FC playing in the Nairobi West league before scaling the heights to the National Super League where it was promoted in 2022 and renamed Nairobi United FC. A major turning point came in September 2024 when Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, through the Sakaja Foundation, acquired the team and promised to invest in youth development, infrastructure, and recruitment.
