Defending Mozzartbet Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup champions Kakamega Homeboyz edged out 12 times Kenyan Premier League winners Tusker 1-0 on Saturday, March 30, 2024.

The hosts all important goal was netted by Oliver Majak that ended Tusker’s journey in the domestic competition at Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu.

Kenya Police 3 Mombasa Stars 1

Kenya Police progressed to the next round after beating Mombasa Stars 3-1 at South C Pavillion in Nairobi.

Alvin Mangeni scored a brace and Tito Okello scored the other goal as Mombasa Stars denied the home side a clean sheet through a goal scored by Alvin Ngoto.

Bungoma Stars 2 Sofapaka 2 (Sofapaka win through penalty shootouts)

The 2009 Kenyan Premier League champions Sofapaka eliminated Bungoma Stars 5-4 through post-match penalties after a 2-2 draw at the Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Kisumu.

Batoto ba Mungu fought back from a 2-0 deficit to force a draw and go on to win in the post-match shootout.

Meshack Karani gave Bungoma Stars the lead through a penalty after Victor Augo brought him down in the ninth minute before the lead was doubled by Wycliffe Wanyonyi.

Humphrey Mieno scored Sofapaka’s first goal with a long-range shot in the 65th minute. Paul Odhiambo restored parity in the 72nd minute and none of the sides could manage a winning goal in the remaining minutes.

In the penalty shootouts, Mieno, Roy Okal, Jacob Onyango, Keegan Ndemi, and Barron Ochieng converted their penalties for Sofapaka.

On the Bungoma Stars’ side, Derrick Tekkwo, Mophat Luiva, Reagan Okoth, and Reagan Osigo with Karani seeing his shot saved by Levis Ojuok.

KCB 3 Bidco 1

KCB progressed after a 3-1 win over the 2020 FKF Cup second placed team was Bidco United.

The Bankers scored first through Derrick Otanga in the ninth minute before the lead was extended by Philemon Nyakwaka 10 minutes later.

The third goal was scored by Hannif Wesonga while Bidco United pulled one back through Jacob Onyango.
