Buruburu Sports Academy (BSA) Director Dan Karani has been appointed the new director and Head Coach of Nashville Football Club.

Karani was unveiled yesterday, October 10, 2024 to head the Kenyan football club which is a Kenyan subsidiary branch of the Nashville Football Club based in Tennessee State in the United States of America.

Karani, who has successfully guided Buruburu Sports Academy to becoming one of the most prolific age group teams in Kenya will work as the General Manager and Head Coach of the Nashville Kenya Football Club senor team even as plans continue to craft an academy partnership between Nashville and Buruburu Sports Academy.

The new General Manager/Head coach hit the ground running and has already assembled a 25-man squad for the Nashville senior team that will feature in the Division 2 zone D in the 2024/2025 season.

Karani is confident of guiding Nashville FC to high heights in the season noting that with his team assembled, the squad is all ready for competition.

Karani is credited with leading BSA to clinch a historic victory on their way to be crowned the 2023 Inua Talanta tournament under 13 champions.

Karani landed the opportunity after he successfully completed his CAF B coaching course that have been offered by Football Kenya Federation.

“I took my coaching courses, graduating from CAF D, CAF C and now CAF B before I was invited for the interviews and was picked,” Karani said.

Highlighting the importance of the CAF coaching courses, Karani said that the team is well established with a senior team, academy and a club house and the opportunity that he landed was as a result of the capacity building he benefited from taking his coaching classes.

“First, I thank FKF for the opportunity they are giving local coaches to acquire knowledge through CAF Courses and encourage other coaches to take up the courses. I got this great opportunity due to my CAF B qualifications. The club is big and I got the opportunity due to my credentials. I hope that with the knowledge and experience I have, I will be able to assist the club gain promotion to Division One and ultimately to higher levels into the Premier League in the future,” Karani explained.

As the head coach, I was part of the selection of the 25-man squad and I recruited my first team of 18 without interference. The team has already started their preparations ahead of the 2014/2025 season that is due to kick off on 19th October, 2024,” Karani said.

Buruburu Soccer Academy chairman Kenn Okaka, who is the Media and Communications Manager at Football Kenya Federation and a renowned communications and PR strategist, congratulated Karani on his new appointment saying that having worked with him at BSA, he is confident Karani was up to task in coaching the Nashville senior team.
