FKF issues convocation for elective SGM

Nairobi 22 November, 2024: The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has today issued an official convocations notice of its upcoming elective Special General Meeting (SGM) scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 7,2024, at the Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani,Nairobi. The elections will be held from 9.00am to 4.00pm.

In a letter sent to delegates at the national level and signed by interim FKF General Secretary/CEO Patrick Korir, the agenda for the meeting will include election of members to the FKF National Executive Committee which include the federation President and Deputy President.

“Pursuant to Article 27(4) & Article 31 (1) (4)(5) of the FKF Constitution(2017): Formal Convocation is hereby given that the Elective Special General Meeting of Football Kenya Federation will be held on
Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Moi International Sports Center, Kasarani, Nairobi at 9.00am.” Read the letter of convocation.

 

The agenda of the SGM will begin with a roll call/check of quorum, an address by the outgoing FKF president Nick Mwendwa and then the elections that are supposed to fill the positions of the National
Executive Committee (NEC) position per region, and eligible Presidential candidates as outlined in Article 28 of the FKF constitution. Each county and each club shall be represented by one delegate.

The race to succeed current FKF president Nick Mwendwa has attracted eight (8) candidates among them FKF deputy president Doris Petra- who is vying alongside Mwendwa as her running mate, former FKF CEO Barry Otieno, Extreme sports CEO Hussein Mohammed, Kakamega Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula, Ex-International Sammy Owino Kempes, Gor Mahia Secretary General Sam Ochola , former NEC member Tom Alila and Nairobi NEC member Chris Amimo.

Delegates invited to the meeting include all the 48 FKF Counties, 18 FKF Premier League clubs, 10 National Super League clubs and 10 National Division One clubs. Others are 3 Women Premier League clubs, 2 Women Division One League Clubs and one representative each from the Players’, Coaches’ and Referees’ associations.
