Nairobi City Stars coach Nicholas Muyoti has stepped down from his role as the tactician of the 2005 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup champions.
Speaking to Kenya Online News, minutes after Nairobi City Stars 2-1 loss to Posta Rangers in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF PL) fixture on Saturday, Muyoti confirmed the development without adding any further information.
“Yes, it’s true, I have stepped down as head coach,” said the former Kakamega Homeboyz coach, without elaborating further.
Although the reason for his departure remains unclear, City Stars have struggled this season, managing just one win in the last seven games.
Their latest setback came against a struggling Posta Rangers side, marking their second consecutive 2-1 loss after a similar defeat to Ulinzi Stars before the holiday break.
He leaves Simba wa Nairobi 15th on the 18-team log, having failed to win any of his last four games with the club.
Simba wa Nairobi’s recent form includes draws against FC Talanta and Kariobangi Sharks (2-2), with their sole victory being a narrow 1-0 win over Murang’a Seal at Kenyatta Stadium.
Earlier, they suffered a 3-1 defeat to Kenya Police and a 1-0 loss to Bandari.
