The Kenya Tchoukball Federation (KTF) marked this year’s Valentine’s day spreading and celebrating love with a Tchoukball coaching clinic that kicked off at Homa Bay High School in Homabay County.

The two-day coaching clinic is the first of a series of activities lined up by Kenya Tchoukball Federation across the year and is themed along the spirit of unity, respect, and joy through Tchoukball.

Kennedy Miruka, the President of the Kenya Tchoukball Federation said that the coaching clinic is aimed at transforming the vibrant heart of love and sportsmanship as KTF hosts the clinic which he noted is not just an event but a celebration of how sports unite the society as well as it can be used to light up lives, and how teamwork can fortify communities.

“This Valentine’s day, we are not just celebrating love—we’re igniting Homa Bay County with the spirit of unity, respect, and joy through Tchoukball. Homa Bay High School will transform into the vibrant heart of love and sportsmanship as we host our Tchoukball Coaching Clinic. This isn’t just an event; it’s a celebration of how sports unite us, how fun can light up our lives, and how teamwork can fortify our community like never before” Mirika said.

The Tchoukball coaching clinic has been organised in partnership with the Homabay County Secondary Schools Sports Association (HBCSSA), the Ministry of Education, and Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association (KESSHA) whose dedication has made this event possible.

“Your passion not only inspires but sets a new standard for our entire nation. I challenge every county in Kenya to catch this spirit and invest in your youth, embrace new sports, and let Tchoukball be a beacon of unity, development, and peace in your communities,” Miruka announced.

The Homabay county KTF coaching clinic is the first of Kenya Tchoukball Federation’s activities in 2025 which has a full in tray in its calendar of events throughout the year.

KTF has set aside February 20th 2024 as a day for Social Justice across the country while in March the federation will unroll the thrill of county-level Tchoukball tournament.

KTD has planned a celebration of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace on April 6th, followed by the National Youth Tchoukball Championship.

The National Super League season set to be held in in Nakuru County will take place in the month of May while June will see Kenya host a coaches and referees seminars with a focus on safeguarding and child protection as Kenya seeks to revamp Tchoukball for environment program—playing for the planet alongside millions of people worldwide.

In recognition of youth and talent, the KTF elite youth Tchoukball team will represent at the inaugural African Youth Championship set to be held in July in Ivory Coast before Kenya takes part in the world stage events, including the World Beach Tchoukball Championship in Bali and the invitational 4Ts tournament in Weimer, Germany in August and September, 2025.

The months of October and November will see Kenya Tchoukball Federation celebrate 20 years of Tchoukball in Kenya with grand festivities, including crowning the inaugural league champions and expanding the Tchoukball for peace projects with refugees and people with different abilities.

Later in December, 2024, in collaboration with national and county governments, KTF has planned the first-ever Beach Tchoukball Festival which is expected to unite Tchoukball enthusiasts from across the globe.
These events, along with the ongoing Tchoukball Mashinani and Tchoukball Mtaani campaigns Miruka opines will keep the flame of love burning bright all year long.
