The Nacha Sports Academy in conjunction with Viraj International Academy is set to host the first Inter Schools Football tournament that will be held on Saturday 22nd March 2025 at Viraj International Academy.

The Nacha Sports Academy aspires to use sports to serve and impact the lives of young and upcoming players enabling them to receive a real-world global perspective of sports training and academic learning reaching their highest level of personal growth and achievement

The tournament, which the first of its kind will comprise teams in various age group categories including the Under 9 years, under 11 years, under 13 years and the under 16 years categories.

According to organisers, the tournament will be played according to FIFA laws and the participating school teams have been  lined up in various categories to play in 7-a-side football matches which will consist of two 12 minute periods, with 2 minute halftime, and using an age appropriate ball. There will be a maximum of 2 minutes of added time, as determined by the referee.

Competing schools will be allowed to field a minimum of 4 players on the field to play the match and a maximum of 12 registered players are allowed per game. Number of games played in the Group & Championship Stages is dependent on the number of teams in the group. The offside law will not apply while substitutions will be unlimited and will occur without stoppage of play. However, all players must have the referee’s permission before they can enter the field of play and they must wait for the substituted player to leave the field.

Further the teams have been directed to be available on the field and ready to play for the scheduled kick off time with a one goal penalty being handed to a team that arrives for kick off  five minutes late. If a team is more than 10 minutes late for the match, they will forfeit the game by a score of 0-3.

To curb age cheating, the organisers have set rules that will require all players bring along their copy of original birth certificates or other valid identification card on the day of the tournament for verification purposes. All teams will be required to register as a team with their players one  hour before the start of the event.

Team at the tournament will be allowed to register as many players as they want. However, up to a maximum of 12 players are allowed to be in uniform during a game while only seven players will be allowed to play at once with a maximum of five as substitutes on the bench allowed.

The entry fee per Category has been pegged at Ksh 5,000 which should be paid via bank Account or via mpesa.
