Trouble is brewing at the AFC Leopards den after a section of branch officials took on club chairman Dan Shikanda over incompetent leadership of the club

Trouble began after AFC Leopards branches suggested a change of the electoral process at the club, replacing the current members universal suffrage voting formula with a delegates system which Shikanda is said to be in opposition.

AFC Leopards Secretary General and Chairman of Chairmen Franklin Imbenzi took on Shikanda calling out the chairman’s acts of omission as noting that Shikanda has been implementing decisions not passed by the national executive while failing to execute duties as passed in the NEC resolutions.

Shikanda is accused of running AFC Leopards as a private entity while decisions of that are passed by the national governing body are not implemented.

“Shikanda has held on to office even after getting elected to the Football Kenya Federation National Executive Committee but now his way of running the club is not unprofessional. He has been making decisions unilaterally and even when he purports to convene general meetings, he often manipulates the numbers on the attendance list to fake a presence of quorum,” Imbenzi said.

Shikanda has in recent days been under pressure to step down from the running of the club after he was elected the Nairobi FKF NEC member with stakeholders pointing out that as a national official, he should not be an official of a club participating in the national league.

Imbenzi noted that Shikanda has been running the club as a private entity and is planning to amend the clubs constitution to extend his stay as chairman of the club saying that the branches will not allow the club to be held hostage by Shikanda for his selfish intensions.
