Starting July 2025, Air France customers will enjoy enhanced seat comfort with the gradual introduction of mattress pads in the Business Class cabins of its long-haul flights. Designed in partnership with the French luxury hospitality brand Sofitel and its renowned MY BED bedding collection, these mattress pads transform the fully-flat Business Class reclining seats into plush sleeping surfaces.

The mattress pad is crafted to create a cloud-like experience, offering an extra layer of comfort for a true cocoon of well-being, ideal for relaxation from take-off to landing, regardless of seat position. Positioned on each seat before boarding, along with a pillow, blanket, and slippers, the mattress pad complements the cabin’s elegant design with its grey hue, one of the Business class’s signature colours.

Easy to use, the mattress pad fits snugly on the seat, with notches that adapt to all Business seats and seat belts across various aircraft types, including the Boeing 777, Boeing 787, Airbus A330, and Airbus A350. After each flight, the mattress pad is cleaned and repackaged to ensure maximum hygiene.

The mattress pad will be progressively introduced starting July 2025, and  will be available on all long-haul flights by the end of the year*, regardless of departure time or flight duration, ensuring comfort at any time of day or night.

“We are delighted to join forces with the expertise of Sofitel MY BED, an exceptional partner, to continue making Business cabin travel a true haven of well-being in the sky,” said Fabien Pelous, SVP Customer Experience at Air France. “The introduction of a new mattress pad will further enhance the comfort offered on board, ensuring even more restful nights before arrival at destination, as well as greater relaxation during daytime flights.”

“Sleep has always been a cornerstone of the Sofitel experience,” added Xavier Royaux, Chief Marketing Officer of Sofitel Legend, Sofitel, MGallery & Emblems. “With the creation of Sofitel MY BED in 2003, Sofitel has offered an unrivalled quality of rest, based on deep expertise and true manufacturing craftsmanship. Today, thanks to our partnership with Air France, we are delighted to extend this experience to the skies, bringing each traveller unique comfort and softness for a truly restorative sleep.”

Air France’s Business cabin features fully-flat beds measuring nearly two meters long, with direct aisle access**. New seats available on select Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A350 aircraft offer optimal privacy, including a sliding door for seclusion. Seats in the middle of the cabin can be adjusted for those traveling with a companion. Each seat includes a large anti-glare 4K HD screen, noise-reducing headphones, Bluetooth connection for personal headphones, and multiple electric sockets, along with Wi-Fi connectivity.

Passengers are welcomed by Air France’s iconic backlit winged seahorse symbol, reflecting the airline’s rich heritage. Premium materials such as wool, brushed aluminium, and full-grain French leather are used for the seat upholstery, ensuring both comfort and privacy. With luxurious essentials, Michelin-starred cuisine, carefully selected wines and champagnes, and a restful night’s sleep, the airlines Business class is now the option of choice for travellers around the world.

*excluding operating irregularities.

**all long-haul Business seats have direct aisle access, except for certain seats on the Airbus A330 in a 2-2-2 configuration.
