Public Service Cabinet Secretary Justin Muturi has called on the government to shelve everything and focus on stopping abductions and killings happening in the country.

Muturi has issued a fresh demand to the government over alleged cases of abductions in the country.

“This is something quite gruesome and it is only fair that the country should shelve all the business they have and discuss these matters of abductions and extra-judicial killings,” he said.

“If left unchecked, can plunge this country into anarchy.”

Muturi was speaking to the press at City Mortuary on Friday after viewing the bodies of the two missing Mlolongo men who were found dead at the morgue after going missing for over a month. One other still missing.

He was flanked by family members of three Mlolongo men and their lawyers.

Muturi called on the government to up its game saying that it should not be normal to get bodies of missing persons at the morgue.

“The back must stop with the government. Please order an end to these abductions and extra-judicial killings. Why do we have young men abducted and killed?” he posed.

“These must come to a stop.”

He said he was not aware of any state policy that supports abductions and extra-judicial killings in the government.

“ It is not right that the relatives can stay for 40 days looking for their young ones. And we are discussing economies, economy for who?” he posed.

“This matter should be taken with the seriousness that it takes. I was lucky that when my son was abducted I was lucky to reach the president. How about this parent who can not reach the president.”

Muturi was reacting after a second body of one of the three men who went missing from the Mlolongo area was found at the  Nairobi Funeral Home (formerly City Mortuary).

The body of Martin Mwau was found at the mortuary in the same place that of Mutumwa Musyoki was discovered.

It also emerged that the bodies were delivered to the mortuary on December 17, a day after their abduction from the Mlolongo area.

The family of the deceased identified Mwau’s body at the mortuary and they were informed the body was picked up from the Mowlem area in the city.

The fingerprints of the deceased were picked and confirmed to be his on Wednesday, January 29.
