The law enforcers struck the all-important goal in the 62 minute through Alvin Mangeni to extended Police’s unbeaten run to four matches under their new coach.

City Stars 1-1 FC Talanta

At the Utalii Grounds in Nairobi, an injury time goalkeeping blunder cost the 2005 FKF Cup champions Nairobi City Stars a win to settle for a 1-1 draw against FC Talanta.

City Stars shot into the lead in the 11th minute with a Mohammed Bajaber  superb solo effort a receiving a pass from Japanese winger Yuto Kusaba.

Bajaber dribbled past three defenders before unleashing a low, powerful strike into the bottom corner.

However, deep into added time, City Stars goalkeeper Elvis Ochoro fumbled Emmanuel Osoro’s shot, allowing the ball to slip under his arm and into the net, gifting Talanta an unlikely point in the 90+5 minute.

After the final whistle, Ochoro was inconsolable, breaking into tears as teammates and club officials, including the club Chief Executive Officer Patrick Korir, comforted him.

“Mistakes are part of the game. Elvis Ochoro performed well in the match, and we stand by him,” said City Stars coach Nicholas Muyoti

The draw leaves City Stars 11th with 16 points, while Talanta climbs to 15th with 14 points from 13 matches.

City Stars then shifted to a defensive strategy, successfully repelling Talanta’s relentless attacks for most of the match.
