The battle lines have been drawn at the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) top leadership after FKF Central region National Executive Committee member Robert Macharia submitted a raft of radical changes he wants introduced in the running of the federation.

In a letter addressed to the FKF General Secretary Harold Ndege, Macharia suggested that the FKF adopts several partinent matters he wants included in the agenda of the next NEC meeting among them a change in the running of FKF leagues and financial autonomy of regions.

In what ponts at signs of a fallout with FKF president Hussein Mohammed, who contested the presidency sponsored by Macharia’s team Murang’a Seals, Macharia wants all FKF standing and judicial committees be allowed to carry out their duties and responsibilities without undue influence from the FKF presidency and secretariat giving the clearest indication of undue influence from the FKF president.

Further, Macharia wants the FKF NEC to elect one of their own, besides the President or vice president as a signatory to FKF accounts. According to Macharia in his letter, a truthful and detailed bank transactions must be provided every month and FKF uses competitive bidding in all it’s procurement and employment which Macharia suggests should be advertised on atleast two daily national newspapers and all federation social media accounts.

To give financial autonomy to regions, Macharia wants FKF adopts a motion that provides all elected NEC members with a monthly Ksh. 250,000 to cater for their administrative costs for the development of regions. Accordingly, regional offices are to be given full autonomy to be in charge of football in their elected areas including the creation of regional standing committees as well as entering into sponsorship deals with third parties.

In the running of leagues, Macharia suggests that a non profit making private company be incorporated to run all FKF national leagues. The NEC office of women football affairs should also be established to run all women football activities and be allowed to operate their own bank account into which all women football funding, grants and sponsorship are to be channelled.

A private company bis also suggested to be incorporated to run and manage all affairs of match officials in all FKF leagues and competitions.
