Nairobi, Wednesday, 16th April, 2025: 32-year-old Zablon Katana Kahindi, popularly known as Beja, is the newest millionaire in town after landing a staggering KES 15 million windfall after staking just 15 shillings in the Betika Midweek Jackpot.
Beja, who irons garments at a local apparel factory in Mombasa, hails from Ganze Village in Kilifi County. The soft-spoken winner couldn’t hide his disbelief and joy as he recounted how his life took a dramatic turn on the evening of Friday, 11th April, when he placed his winning bet after a long day at work—alone and hopeful.
“I started playing Aviator last year, but it’s my fiancée, Vicky, who encouraged me to try the Midweek Jackpot,” Beja shared. “She told me her friends had won before, and although my first attempt was disappointing, I told myself I’d try again—but with discipline.
