Athletics Kenya Director of Youth Development Barnaba Korir who is also vying for the position of the National Olympics Committee of Kenya (NOC-K) 1st Vice President has continued to champion for youth development through sports from the grassroots level.
Speaking yesterday, Thursday May 1st, 2025 at the Kosirai Ward Tournament held at Kosirai High School where he was the chief guest, Korir, the man who never rests, reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to youth empowerment noting that g๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ซ๐จ๐จ๐ญ๐ฌ ๐๐๐ฏ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐ซ๐๐ฆ๐๐ข๐ง๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐จ๐ ๐๐ง๐ฒ ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐๐๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐๐ฎ๐ฅ ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐ฌ ๐๐๐จ๐ฌ๐ฒ๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ฆ.

He lauded the role of Athletics Kenya in nurturing young athletes through holiday training camps spread across the country, calling them โvital talent incubation centers.โ These camps offer not just athletic training but structured mentorship, guiding youth toward elite competition.
The Kosirai Ward tournament was sponsored by Area MCA Hon. Sarah Mutwol, and showcased the raw potential of youth in cross-country, football, and volleyball.
In his keynote, Korir emphasized:

Korir also highlighted Kosirai High Schoolโs proud legacy, being the cradle of champions like Olympic gold medalist Emmanuel Wanyonyi and former Olympic champion Conseslus Kipruto, whose journeys inspire the next generation.
