The leadership of Jubilee Party under ex-President Uhuru Kenyatta has been recognised as the bona fide officials of the former ruling party.
The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) has officially issued a special gazette notice reaffirming the leadership of the Jubilee Party under former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Nderitu, while listing the names of the new party officials, also stated that the decision followed the resignations of three persons elected to various offices after the National Delegates Conference election, and in exercise of the power conferred by section 20 (1) (c) of the Political Parties Act.
“Following the Consent Order in High Court Civil Appeal No. E1016 of 2023 Jubilee Party vs. Internal Disputes Resolution Committee & Others, the Jubilee Party National Delegates Conference (NDC) of the 22nd May, 2023, the resignations of three persons elected to various offices subsequent to the National Delegates Conference election, and in exercise of the power conferred by section 20 (1) (c) of the Political Parties Act, the Registrar of Political Parties gives notice that the Jubilee Party intends to make changes to the party officials as follows,” the notice reads in part.
In the gazette notice dated June 30, 2025, Registrar of Political Parties Ann Nderitu stated that the move follows the Consent Order in High Court Civil Appeal No. E1016 of 2023 and the Jubilee Party National Delegates Conference (NDC) of May 22, 2023.
Uhuru has been gazetted as the party leader. He will be deputised by Beatrice Gambo (strategy), who takes over from Jimmy Angwenyi; Kados Muiruri (operational), who takes over from Kinoti Gatobu; and Joseph Manje (Outreach), who takes over from Naomi Shaban.
Saitoti Torome has been listed as the party’s National Chairperson, having taken over from Nelson Dzuya. He will be deputised by David Murathe.
Jeremiah Kioni will continue serving as the party secretary general, while popular influencer and blogger Pauline Njoroge will serve as deputy national organising secretary.
Court victory
This comes weeks after Uhuru clinched a significant legal victory in the protracted battle for control of the Jubilee Party, dealing a crushing blow to a rebel faction that had sought to wrest the outfit from his leadership.
In a ruling delivered on Thursday, June 12, 2025, the High Court validated the resolutions of the Jubilee Party’s Special National Delegates Convention (SNDC) held in May 2023, which reinstated Uhuru as party leader and restructured the party’s top leadership.
