National Super League (NSL) side Nairobi United FC received a new year’s gift from Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja’s kitting of the team.
Addressing the team while donating the kit and equipment on Friday, January 24th, 2024, the Nairobi governor said he’s committed to ensuring the team rises to become the best.
During the kitting ceremony, former Harambee Stars midfielder Nicholas Muyoti formerly of two former FKF winning sides KakamegaHomeboyz and Nairobi City Stars was also unveiled as the new head coach and his first assignment will be against Mully’s Children’s Family on Saturday, Janaury 25th, 2025 at the Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.

The Governor expressed his vision for the club to join the Kenya Premier League noting that it is possible with hard work and dedication.
“You will never lack. I want you to wake up, work, and think about football. Put all your energy here; I believe in winning. Let’s be winners,” Governor Sakaja passionately told the team.
Nairobi United is currently placed second in the NSL standings on 31 points, just one point behind league leaders APS Bomet.
He vowed to roll out a plan that will see the team elevated to the National Kenya Premier League in the long run.
Governor Sakaja also cleared the team’s outstanding winning allowances amounting to Ksh 1.2m
