The 2025 NCBA Windsor Classic tees off today, March 7th to March 9th at the Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club, bringing together 146 top amateur golfers from Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda.
The 54-hole stroke play championship has also attracted 6 talented female golfers, adding an exciting dynamic to the competition. The women players, including Naomi Wafula, Kellie Gachaga, Margeret Njoki, Bianca Ngecu, and Diana Mbuba, will compete alongside their male counterparts in this high-stakes tournament.
With a highly competitive field, players will compete over three days, with the first two rounds of the tournament determining the top 33 players, along with ties, who will make the cut to advance to the final round on Sunday, March 9th.
The tournament boasts a prize pool of 500,000 Kenya Shillings, with the winner set to walk away with 115,400 Kenya Shillings, making it a highly sought-after event in the amateur golf calendar.
The defending champion, Michael Karanga, will be returning to the course to defend his title in what promises to be a nail-biting competition.
“The NCBA Windsor Classic is officially recognized as a World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) event, offering players the opportunity to earn valuable ranking points as they vie for the championship,” said Mr. Chris Kinuthia, the Tournament Director. “The competition will be played in accordance with the Rules of Golf as approved by the R&A Rules Limited, the Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) Local Rules, KAGC Qualifying Event Requirements, and any additional local rules as approved by the Tournament Committee.”
Mr. Kinuthia also expressed his gratitude to NCBA Bank for their continued support and thanked Windsor Golf Hotel and Country Club for availing their world-class course to host this exciting event, where elite amateur golfers will showcase their talent.
