CIALA Resort, March 7, 2025 – Hon. Brian Mulama was honored with the Best Chief Executive Committee Member (CECM) award by a well-known polling group during a special ceremony at CIALA Resort. This award recognizes his dedication to public service and his efforts to make the community better over the past two years.

SAKAJA’S BOLD VISION

Governor Johnson Sakaja is passionate about making things happen, and his motto, “Ni LAZIMA iWork,” means “It Must Work.” This shows he’s dedicated to getting real results, no matter what challenges come his way. He believes that developing skills and nurturing talent are essential for boosting the economy and improving society. Thanks to his leadership, Mulama has learned a lot and has seen real progress for the community.

MULAMA’S ACHIEVEMENTS

Through Mulama’s effective leadership, his ministry has achieved remarkable milestones in a short period, surpassing expectations. Notably, he has overseen the construction and renovation of seven major stadiums: Woodley Stadium, Joe Kadenge Stadium, City Stadium, Mwiki Stadium, Kihumbuni Stadium, Dessah Stadium in Eastleigh, and Dandora Stadium. These venues promote sports and recreation while also serving as community spaces for various events and cultural activities.

Moreover, Mulama has allocated Ksh 1.2 billion in study grants to students, demonstrating a strong commitment to education and ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder young people’s academic success.

SPEECH

Dear guests, ladies and gentlemen,

I am deeply honored—and perhaps a bit proud—to accept this significant award. This recognition is not solely a personal achievement; it serves to inspire others to lead and serve in Kenya.

Once again, I echo the words of my boss, H.E. Governor Sakaja Johnson—LAZIMA iWork! This phrase embodies our philosophy and resolve. We are committed to progress and achievement, even in challenging times. Leadership is about hard work, meeting targets, and enhancing our community.

Now, let’s focus on my ministry—Talent, Skills Development & Care. If ministries were music genres, mine would be an energetic Afro beat—bold, lively, and forward-thinking! I oversee Early Childhood Education, Social Services, and Youth, Talent & Sports. My role is to empower future leaders, innovators, and trailblazers by providing them with the necessary tools, training, and opportunities to succeed.

However, it’s crucial to recognize that no leader achieves success alone. I am fortunate to have the trust of Governor Sakaja and a dedicated team that shares our mission. This award is a reflection of our collective effort.

Additionally, I extend my gratitude to the independent research organizations present today. You play an essential role in ensuring transparency and accountability within our public institutions, demanding that we operate based on facts and evidence, not assumptions.

As I accept this award, I pledge to continue pushing forward. This honor invigorates my resolve to work harder and strive for even greater accomplishments. So, don’t be surprised to see me here again, collecting more accolades—because excellence is something we must always pursue!

Thank you for this recognition, for your vital work, and for holding us to higher standards! Let’s keep working. Let’s continue winning. LAZIMA iWork!

EMPOWERING CHANGE

During his tenure, Mulama has prioritized inclusivity and actively engaged with local citizens to understand their needs and aspirations. His collaborative leadership style has united diverse groups to discover innovative solutions tailored to the community.

The overwhelming support for Mulama’s leadership, exemplified by this recent award, reinforces the ideal of dedicated public service. As he builds on these successes, the community remains optimistic about advancements in sports, education, and overall quality of life.

With leaders like Brian Mulama making strides, it is evident that hard work, determination, and community involvement are not mere phrases—they are actionable commitments paving the way for a brighter future for all.
