Nairobi, Kenya | 01 June 2025: Mastercard marked the finale of the UEFA Champions League season with two exclusive viewing experiences in Nairobi and Amboseli, bringing fans closer to the action in truly unforgettable ways.
In Nairobi, football enthusiasts gathered at the iconic Carnivore Grounds to watch the highly anticipated final match between Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain. The event featured immersive activations, interactive fan zones and live entertainment, culminating in an electric live performance by Bien, one of Kenya’s most celebrated musical artists, reinforcing Mastercard’s promise to create meaningful connections through its UEFA sponsorship.
“Football goes beyond the ninety minutes. It’s about the shared moments and the emotions that bring us together. Our collaboration with UEFA allows us to craft experiences that go beyond the ordinary and resonate with fans across the region,” said Shehryar Ali, Senior Vice President and Country Manager, East Africa and Indian Ocean Islands, Mastercard.
Taking the experience to new heights, ten Mastercard cardholders from Kenya and Tanzania and their invited guests won an unforgettable viewing experience at the Amboseli National Park. Surrounded by Kenya’s majestic wildlife and expansive landscapes, the winners enjoyed a complimentary sunrise hot air balloon ride followed by an exclusive outdoor screening of the final match, combining the thrill of world-class football with the serenity of nature.
“Every interaction with Mastercard, from swipes to taps, opens the door to something truly priceless. With this campaign, we’ve taken the UEFA Champions League to breathtaking new horizons, celebrating the game in ways only Mastercard can,” added Shehryar Ali.

The tournament will be held at STAR OF HOPE, starting from 10:00 AM, bringing together players and fans for a day of skill, connection, and opportunity. Participants will compete for exciting rewards, with the GRAND PRIZE BEING A MOTORBIKE, alongside other cash prizes of KSH 40,000, KSH 20,000, and KSH 10,000. This mega tournament will be played across five zones where the winner in every zone will pocket Ksh. 5000 and a chance to move into the next stage for an opportunity to win a Motor Cycle. The runners up in every zone will walk away with a Ksh. 3000 while number three wins Ksh. 2000. In that spirit, Kuria has taken it upon himself to bring the community together through the VIWANDANI POOL TOURNAMENT, set for 24TH MAY 2026. Kiria intones that this is not just competition, it is a statement of inclusion, youth empowerment, and practical engagement at the grassroots level. Kuria encouraged all interested participants to register with thekir local cordinators and be part of this transformative experience. “This is what meaningful leadership looks like—creating real opportunities where talent is recognized and rewarded. It is about moving beyond words and ensuring that progress can be seen and felt within the community,” Kuria said. Kuria, who is running for the position of Makadara Membernof Parliament has been active in empowering the residents of Makadara constituency using sports as a way of empowerment.
