The husband to Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, former Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa and ex-Nominated Senator Millicent Omanga have landed new State jobs in the latest round of appointments.

In a gazette notice released on Friday, President William Ruto appointed George Wanga as the non-Executive Chairperson of the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) for the same period.

Mr. Wanga will replace Jackton Boma Ojwang whose tenure now stands revoked.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 7 (1) (a) of the Kenya Roads Board Act, as read together with section 51 (1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint Aisha Jumwa Katana to be the non-executive Chairperson of the Kenya Roads Board, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 17th January 2025,” read the notice.

The president also appointed Jumwa as the non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Roads Board for a period of three years.

Jumwa, who was fired as a CS in July last year, now takes over from Ahmed Kolosh Mohamed whose appointment has effectively been terminated.

Former Tarbaj MP Mohamed Ibrahim Elmi also made it to the President’s list as the new non-Executive Chairperson of the National Livestock Development and Promotion Service, for the same period.

Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya tapped Senator Omanga as a member of the Board of Directors of Kenya Shipyards Limited for a period of three years, effective Tuesday, January 14.

Allan Kosgey, who in 2022 was seeking the Nandi gubernatorial seat on Ruto’s UDA party but lost to Governor Stephen Sang during the nominations, also landed a job as the non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of the Kenya Industrial Property Institute for a period of three years.

He was appointed by the newly installed Trade Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyanjui just hours after assuming office.

President Ruto went ahead to pick Mary Wanjira Kimonye to be the Vice-Chairperson of the Public Service Commission for a period of six (6) years and former IEBC Commissioner Boya Molu as one of the seven members of the State body for the same period.

The other six members appointed to the PSC are: Harun Maalim Hassan, Mwanamaka Amani Mabruki, Francis Meja, Dr Irene Cherotich Asienga, Joan Andisi Machayo and Dr. Francis Otieno Owino.
